Hair bow storage: a DIY tutorial
Hi friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I'm super excited to be sharing this hair bow storage tutorial with you today, as it's something I created for my girls' room while ago. It really is just the sweetest little thing! When something can serve as decor and function, that's a double win in my eyes!
First up, here are your needed supplies.
-Yarn (I prefer thicker yarn, found at Hobby Lobby)
-Embroidery hoop (I used a 10" hoop. You will only be using the inner ring)
-Pom maker tool (Found here)
-A good, sharp scissor
For the first step, cut 24 pieces of yarn, each 38' long, to be the fringe pieces that hang down. You will loop each one in half and attach it to your hoop like so.
Loop all 24 pieces around the hoop. Since they are doubled up, you will finish with 48 strings of yarn hanging down.
Next, make three pom poms (or however many you fancy!) to adorn the hoop. Here's a quick video showing you how to make a pom. (Click here)
After you've made your poms, use the long string to tie them around the hoop. Trim off any excess yarn.
Add your bows, and viola! I hung ours on the wall in my girl's room, and I like to keep it simple by only displaying our seasonal bows. You could definitely fill it with as many as you'd like though!
Now you're in for a little SURPRISE! Jenna and I are giving away this hoop, plus these four darling Bumbelou bows! All you need to do to enter is head over to our Friends of Bumbelou Facebook page and comment on this post. We will draw a winner next week! Happy crafting!
xo,
Amy
